We finally had to turn on the air. My cats are hiding out it the house to get away from the hot days. We are supposed to get a break soon...
Hailey went up to Temecula to help her floral design teacher with an outdoor wedding yesterday. She said she got to hang out in the airconditioned bar during the wedding.

Lucky she got to hide out in the A/C.
A Murrieta horse group is having an annual trail ride and festivities today. You wouldn't catch me on a horse today even if it is better today than it has been.
My cat has been hanging out around the house all week but now I am very worried. He must have gone out this morning before I got up and I haven't seen him all day. He will usually show up if I call him but hasn't yet. |

Sarah,
Hope your kitty is home now. Our cats sometimes stay gone for three or four days...then they stay in for three or four days sleeping. Makes me wonder what they are up to when they are out...

He finally came wandering in last evening and went straight to the water then the food. After that he was all over me all evening and in my sleep last night.
He is just over a year old and fixed. He is always here in the evening for food, neck rubs and a comfortable beds. He also loves the dogs.
I was just worried about the heat yesterday. |

Sarah,
Smoky was out all night but came in this morning. I worry about her but she has good safe hiding places. Right now she is sleeping under my desk.
It is back to cloudy mornings with the return of the marine layer. Guess you don't have that up there. At least am not running the air.

Sarah,
We are totally back in morning clouds and the beaches are worse off. We get the sun in the afternoon at least...well it is after 12 and not sunny yet. The news said that this should last through August. So am thinking that those few days of hot weather is all the summer we will get. So much for sunny California.
How is it up there now?

We spent the weekend in Palm Springs. Nice big house with a big pool. But I don't like Palm Springs at all. I told my daughters it makes me appreciate Hemet. We were lucky because it was only 112. I have seen it much hotter there. We did have fun in the pool.
It was 73 in the house and outside when I got up this morning here. It is only 90 now with a nice breeze coming thru the house. At least we have sunshine most of the time. I am really loving this.
Don't give up on summer. We still have August and September altho it has been a strange summer everywhere. |

Sarah,
It sounds like Palm Springs is just too hot! I don't think people would actually live there in summer if not for air conditioning...It started out as a winter resort for the rich and famous Hollywood types.
Do you ever get down here to Barona anymore? My daughter and I went a couple of weeks ago and had a lovely lunch and a bit of time with the slots.

I have been wanting to go there for ages but waiting to find the money.
Even with A/C it is just too hot in Palm Springs. We were talking about that last weekend. What a waste of energy. We weren't supposed to live in the desert like that. In the winter the temps and weather are about the same as Hemet, so what's the draw? |

Sarah,
Got up about 6am and the sky was blue with some whispy pink clouds and I thought we would have a sunny day...then the clouds moved in and it is just gloomy again.
I sure wish you could get down here one of these days...
